Active vibration control at Ullevi football arena, Göteborg, Sweden

The directors of the Göteborg Opera house have decided to investigate the possibility to build a multi-purpose facility in connection to the existing opera house. NovoScen has been contracted to make a preliminary analysis of the stage machinery for the new building.

The Schiphol: Create a Barrier of Silence competition is now completed. NovoScen was responsible for the design of the lifting mechanism of the 20 m high retractable sound barrier for the Schiphol airport.

Areas of expertise

NovoScen has experience from many different opera, theatre and multi-purpose hall projects over a period of more than 15 years. Many novel designs with unprecedented performance and low noise properties have been introduced in these projects.

Our experience and areas of expertise include:

Theatre project planning
System design and specification of mechanical parts as well as drive and control systems for over and under stage machineries.
Detailed design of over and under stage machineries including complete shop drawings, calculations, service and maintenance, and required checks by the local authorities as well as accreditation organisations.
Design of static steel constructions associated with the stage machinery such as grids, fly floors, machine rooms and secondary steel for winches.
Assistance to the buyer in the purchasing process.
Supervision of the construction work including production inspections, assembly control, assistance at start of operation, and support during the dedication and the warranty period.
